HBAFH idol Gwen Stefani is returning to the music spotlight, after a séjour of about 5 years. The LA blonde took time out after her second album The Sweet Escape to concentrate on her good Catholic principles of motherhood and marriage, though she still kept busy with her fashion line L.A.M.B. which she shows at New York Fashion Week. Last year, No Doubt reformed and went on tour, but they are now back in the studio working on some new material. We couldn’t be more excited – Gwen and the boys are true musicians and the charts ain’t been the same without their ska-punk sounds.
Gwen the solo artist stepped out of the limelight when her family was growing, and frankly, with Lady Gaga dropping an atomic bomb on the female solo artist categories of music awards worldwide, we think it was sage to let the dust settle – up til then, it was Gwen who wore the crown of fashion queen in the pop world. But she’s back; she graced the cover of British Elle this month looking incredible, photographed by Matthias Vriens-McGrath. We love the interview, where Gwen talks candidly about her love of glamming up to go out and chanelling tomboy sexiness: “I have this real masculine-feminine thing; I’m not really that sexy – I get all made up and then I like to be a tough girl”. It’s been a while babe, but it’s good to have ya back!
